What happens when your trial ends

Your Ferndesk trial lasts 7 days with no credit card required. Before it expires, the dashboard shows a countdown banner and sends a notification the day before. When the trial ends, your content is saved and editing is paused until you choose a paid plan.

During your trial

A banner at the top of the Ferndesk dashboard counts down the days remaining in your 7-day trial.

Before expiration

You will receive a notification the day before your trial ends so you have time to upgrade or request an extension.

When the trial expires

Once the 7-day trial period ends:

  • Your help center content and settings are preserved

  • Editing is paused. You cannot create or update articles until you subscribe to a plan

  • You are not automatically billed

Trial expiration is not a cancellation

A trial ending after 7 days is different from canceling an active subscription. A trial expiration pauses editing and preserves your data until you upgrade. A user-initiated cancellation, by contrast, keeps your paid access active through the end of the current billing cycle.

How to restore editing

To resume full access, subscribe to a plan from Settings → Billing.
