Publish a changelog entry
Publish a changelog entry to make it live in the public changelog feed and in the Self-Service Widget; only published entries appear there. On an entry's first publish, you also choose whether to announce it as a What's new prompt in the widget.
Publish an entry
Publish from the entry editor, the same way you publish any article. How to create articles manually covers Publish article and Publish changes for regular articles.
In the Help Center section of your dashboard, open the changelog entry in the editor.
Click Publish changelog entry. For an entry that is already published, click Publish changes to push your edits live.
If the entry is a default-language entry that has never been published, the editor asks Announce in the widget? before publishing. Choose Yes, announce it (shows in the widget's What's new update for signed-in users) or No, publish quietly (only appears in the changelog).
A toast confirms Entry published, or Failed to publish entry if publishing fails. If saving the entry's details fails first, publishing stops and the editor shows "Save the entry details before publishing." The announce question appears only for a default-language entry that has never been published; all other entries publish directly.
Announce in the widget
Announcing is optional: a quietly published entry still appears in the changelog feed, and only announced entries are eligible for the widget's What's new prompt. When you publish several entries in one batch, the confirmation panel offers the same announcement switch: Announce in the widget for one entry, and a label that counts the entries when several are selected.
To change the choice after publishing, open the entry's settings: the Announcement section has an Announce in the widget switch, with the helper text "Shows a What's new prompt to signed-in widget users who haven't seen it yet." Toggle it on or off to announce or stop announcing the entry. The switch appears only for published default-language entries, not for drafts or translations.
