Changelogs must live at a section root. The system rejects a changelog nested inside another collection, so create it from the section's add-content menu instead.
Create a changelog
Create a changelog from a section's add-content menu in the Help Center. A changelog is a collection type for dated, chronological content such as release notes, and entries are added after the changelog exists.
You need edit permissions in your workspace to create a changelog.
Create a changelog
Changelogs must live at a section root: they cannot be nested inside another collection, and they cannot contain sub-collections. Start from the section's add-content menu, not from a collection.
Open the content tree
Go to Help Center in the sidebar.
Start creating
Open a section's add-content menu and choose Create Changelog.
Enter changelog details
Enter a Changelog name and a Description, both required. Once a name is entered, you can click Generate with AI to write the description from the name.
Create the changelog
Choose an icon (changelogs default to a megaphone icon) and click Create changelog. The button stays disabled while the name or description is blank, and validation errors include "Changelog name is required", "Description is required", "Failed to create changelog", and "Failed to generate description".
What's next
Adding a dated entry to your changelog is covered in Add an entry to a changelog. The Changelogs overview explains how changelogs work in your help center.
