Ferndesk
2026

January 9th, 2026

This release brings multiple workspaces, a unified Fern experience, push notifications, and dozens of quality-of-life improvements.

Multiple workspaces

Workspaces let you isolate knowledge bases, team members, and settings for different products or brands. Each workspace has its own help center, integrations, billing, and content.

This is useful for:

  • Companies with multiple products or separate brands

  • Teams building both public docs and private internal SOPs

  • Agencies managing multiple client help centers

Unified Fern page

Recommendations and tasks are now consolidated into one place. View all your Fern activity, audit findings, and ongoing tasks from a single dashboard.

Ask Fern to write your docs

Push notifications

Get browser notifications when Fern completes a task. Push notifications appear on your desktop even when you're not actively viewing the Ferndesk dashboard.

You can receive email notifications, browser push notifications, or both. If you prefer to keep your inbox clean, you can disable email notifications and rely solely on push notifications.

Configure your notification settings

@mention articles and collections when assigning tasks

When assigning tasks to Fern, you can now type @ followed by an article or collection name to provide better context. This helps Fern understand exactly which content you're referencing.

Smarter agent

Fern handles longer, more complex tasks with fewer errors. The agent is better at following multi-step instructions and maintaining context throughout extended conversations.

Upload files in follow-ups

You can now upload images and other files mid-conversation with Fern. Drag and drop attachments directly into follow-up messages to provide additional context or clarification.

Other improvements

  • Search is faster and more accurate. Results load quicker and better match your query terms.

  • Paste markdown directly into the editor. The editor now properly handles pasted markdown without breaking formatting.

  • Fixed issues with code blocks and callouts. Code blocks and callout components now render correctly.

  • Fixed bugs with help center preview. The preview panel accurately reflects your published help center.

  • Fixed layout issues. Resolved various spacing and alignment problems across the dashboard.
