Can I customize my help center URL structure?
No, Ferndesk uses a fixed URL structure that cannot be customized. This ensures consistent, SEO-friendly URLs across all help centers.
URL structure
Your help center uses these URL patterns:
Articles:
/articles/article-title-abc12Collections:
/collections/collection-name-xyz78Home:
/(or your custom subfolder, like/help/)
Each URL includes a human-readable slug from the title plus a unique 5-character ID.
The random string at the end prevents broken URLs when you rename articles and ensures no two articles can ever have conflicting URLs, even if they share the same title.
If you change an article title, the slug updates automatically and the old URL redirects to the new one.
What you can customize
While the internal URL structure is fixed, you can:
Use a custom domain (like
