How to send follow-up requests to Fern

After creating a task, you can continue the conversation with Fern by sending follow-up messages. This allows you to clarify instructions, ask questions, or provide additional information to refine the task.

How to send a follow-up message

To send a follow-up message, navigate to the specific task. Below the conversation history, you'll find a text input area.

  1. Type your message in the text area with the placeholder "Send a message to Fern".

  2. Click the send button to send your message.

  3. Your new message will appear in the chat history, and Fern will begin processing it.

Pro-tip: Use follow-up messages to guide Fern's work and ensure the final output meets your expectations. You can provide feedback, ask for adjustments, or add new requirements as the task progresses.

When you can't send follow-up messages

There are a few situations where you won't be able to send a follow-up message:

You can't send messages while Fern is actively working on a previous request. If you try, you'll see an error message: "You can't send messages to your Fern while she's working."

Once a task is completed and the articles are published, you can't send any more messages. If you need to make further changes, you'll need to create a new task.
